The Misericords
Into Ludlow this morning to collect my new glasses. I ventured into St Laurence's to look, not at the stained glass, but at the misericords. Dating from the 14th and early15th centuries, Ludlow has possibly more of these carved medieval choir stall seats than any other parish church in England. My blip shows four of my favourites. The top right figure is said to be Richard II.
