Melissani Caves

Very close to Sami are the Melissani Caves/lake, said to be the site of a cult of Pan and the Nymphs. Now a successful tourist site, we were very fortunate to miss the buses and crowds by about 15 minutes.

Then on to explore the small yachting harbour of Agia Evfima and then another spectacular drive to Lixouri (not great) on the Paliki Peninsula.

On the way home we decided to stop at the gorgeous Myrtos beach which had a terrifyingly steep decent and I therefore hated every minute I was down there as I knew we had to come back up.
