Common Cockchafer, also known as Maybugs are Scarab Beetles with a distinctive fan like antennae. 
Apparently their beating wings produce a sound so loud and relentless that their other nickname  - the Doodlebug- was also used to describe Germany's V-1 flying bomb in the Second World War.
