reading:  The Magician by Colm Tóibín
i'm a fan of Thomas Mann.  his books kept me going during a month long hospital stay in the 1970s.
i may embark upon a re read of Joseph & His Brothers.
and of course Death in Venice is wonderful too.
Dirk Bogarde lived near to my parents and they enjoyed a brief friendship before he died.  An excellent actor.
