Flowers at Pittenweem

There were masses of these flowers at Pittenweem (in the East Neuk of Fife) between West Shore and West Braes. According to my book, (Fitter, Fitter and Blamey), they are Alexanders (Smyrnium olusatrum). Can anyone confirm this? The extra is a closer view. Thanks to Miranda for hosting Wild Flower Week.
Yesterday's extra was a deck prism. Before boats had electric lights, this was a way of allowing daylight to pass through holes in the deck and distribute it around the cabin.
