Mountain Laurel
I was awake at 4:00 so I went to the rec room to read. When hubby came out at 6:00, I was ready to try to go back to sleep. This is our last day before leaving so I didn’t sleep long. My sister will bring all our WV food. I filled a cooler plus packed all my produce for her to take. It was time to prepare the house for our mother moving in with us when we return from WV. We also needed to gather items she will need in WV. Along the route, these mountain laurel bushes lined the forest. My pictures do not give you a true view of the beauty. We’d just arrived back home and made our lunch plates. Skylar called crying hysterically. She was running an errand for her mom and her car made a strange noise and cut out in the middle of the highway. We unplugged the oven and headed to her. A passerby, who happened to be related by marriage, stopped to help her before we got there. They managed to get the car off the road. But several other motorists just honked their horns non-stop making her that much more distraught. Road rage is a big problem here. Long story short, her father finally arrived and they got the car started. He drove it to their home which was only four miles away, hubby drove Chris’ big truck and I drove ours. They will take it to their shop tomorrow to get it checked. By the time we got home, hubby had to go get Brooklyn from school. Still no lunch. I started our laundry and continued modifying the house for Momma (removed trip hazards, changed linens, etc.) We are beat and still not ready. There are so many last minute jobs. I am actually looking forward to the long drive/rest time. Poor hubby…. Hope you have some stress-free moments. Stay safe. Thanks for your visit.

Contrasted to the waxy green leaves
Nestled under trees along the creek
Showing some of the beauty of spring” -
