2025 Wednesday — The Arrival
I’ve watched Facebook Marketplace for years with the hope and desire that someday I would see a preowned piano that I could purchase. Numerous times I’ve seen one, but could not quite get the gumption to make it mine. A couple of months ago, I saw the piano I wanted. I watched the ad for weeks; then, it was no more. I could not find the ad. I was sure I had let another desirable piano slip away.
So I contacted the person who had placed the ad. She told me she omeone had said “yes” to buying the piano, but had not shown-up with the money. So the owner was delighted to have us inquire. Then the original buyer resurfaced and the piano owner rejected them and gave us the option to make it ours. I said “yes” and the owner asked if they could keep the piano for another month and a half because they are planning to move, but it would be that long before they would be ready and they did not want to live without a piano for that long. So I said sure. They live about 50 miles from us.
That gave me the time to find and book a date with a piano mover and to find a piano teacher. The piano mover was good, but costly. My piano lessons begin tomorrow. This is very exciting.
