It's All Coming Back To Me Now

1960: U.S.-Soviet summit meeting collapses after U-2 spy plane shot down
Quote Of The Day
"Like a deep-seated form of acute infection in a living organism, these bases disrupt the normal political and economic life of the states upon which they have been foisted."
(Nikita Kruschev)
I've always said pop and politics shouldn't mix.
I was planning to write about the latest news in the world of U.A.P.'s - there's been several very interesting developments - but because I had such a wonderful surprise at the end of the day I am going with this instead.
It must be my week for faces from the past showing up. The young lady in this photo is the first child I taught at St. Michael's, twenty years ago. It was during Summer School. Her mother, also in the photo, kindly invited me, my wife and daughter to her house. I was just bringing my class back from whole school assembly when I met them being given a tour of the school by the secretary and they had just finished visiting my classroom. The secretary told me that A had been interested in all the biology resources on display in the classroom because she is just about to start work as a veterinarian. I told her that we had just performed a short sketch about the digestive system during the assembly and so we performed it for her.
I told A that I often think about her being the first child I taught here, so I really was delighted to see her and her mum. Lovely people both.
