Almost a Barn Owl

I woke about early so made a cup of tea and took it back to bed. I had the curtains open and could see reflected in the greenhouse glass what looked like a bird of prey. I crept slowly to  the window and there was a beautiful barn owl sitting on the fence. I watched him for a few seconds but as soon as he spotted me he was off. We often get one flying over the garden and one landed under the apple trees a few weeks ago, but that's always in the evening. I can hear owls calling every night as well, very close by.  This was just gone 7am so the sun was well up and it was quite warm then too.
I've done nothing else of interest all day - dancefit class, gardening, nursing home visiting, and a visit  to a local supplier to order 2 dumpy bags of Cotswold chippings which will arrive on Monday. Dancefit class was very funny as our instructor, who is usually VERY noisy, was not speaking, and only miming or speaking with no sound because she's singing at a large hotel tomorrow, and is a bit hoarse with playing somewhere else last night, so was trying to preserve her voice. It meant we got about 2 extra tracks in!
So here I'm afraid is yet another dragon fly. I shall take my camera to bed with me this evening just in case the owl returns in the morning.
