Skylark

Out in the midday sun towards Rowarth we spotted
Film crew and Drone out shoot more of After The Flood series 2 for ITV

then Skylarks, Meadow Pipits and a flock of a dozen Golden Plover dropped into the field beside us to feed.  These look like Adult plumage breeding birds we wonder if they have had breeding attempts ruined by the moorland fires at the Goyt Valley - but perhaps there is another reason. We were then treated to a dog flight across the Moorland:  a falcon newly arrived from Africa, a Hobby, looking just like the Field Guides description , like a giant Swift was met in the sky by a female Merlin which may have a nest or young. They soared and dive in tandem way off into the distance until they parted.  An amazing sight but no photos.
