Let me out!

With it being so warm I had the back door from the kitchen into the garden open for most of the day.  At one point this afternoon I heard a commotion in the kitchen.  When I went in I saw the blackbird desperately trying to get out. I managed to drape a teatowel over it and got it outside safely. This was the first time I had a bird in the house.
