Flower Friday. : : Garden Roses
My friend Cindy had knee surgery (reattachment of a torn meniscus, not a replacement) last Friday and our garden is producing a riot of roses so I picked some to take to her. She of course had a room full of flowers from other visitors but she liked these because they match her stove! (It's orange) I took this picture before I went down to see her.
All the usual suspects showed up for coffee this morning. Not a word was spoken about the breakdown of the government (or is it Agent Orange, the perpetrator who is breaking down?) We talked about gardens, dogs, car repairs and the new shops coming to Montgomery village. We didn't even try to put the world to rights because that seems impossible, but we did set a date to celebrate John and Bob's big birthday coming up in July. It's a good way to start the day with good people.
Charged up by coffee, we charged around our power walk on the Brush Creek trail in record time. The weather is just about perfect so a few gardening chores were done when we got home. Thanks to Dana and John's efforts, the garden is looking excellent though I couldn't help comparing our cactus, succulent, agave garden to Cindy's ferny shade garden. And she lives just across the street.
We had bird drama this morning when John left the front door open and That Damn BIrd flew right into the living room. John's efforts to get her outside finally succeeded, but he looked like a complete madman chasing her around the living room waving his arms and making incomprehensible noises. She may have learned her lesson from that adventure, for she hasn't been back again.
