BOO!

Meet my new scarecrow Boo. I have her in the edge of the sunflower garden to keep the deer away from my raised beds of purple cabbage peppers, parsley and lettuce. We had a vicious storm this evening around 6:00. It was short lived but one of the worse I have ever seen. I heard a report we had 70 mile hour winds. I believe it was more as it was worse then any Tropical Storm I have lived through and there have been many. We lost some shingles and tree limbs and gained debris from who knows where but the power was only out for 4 1/2 hrs. The scare crows held up well...I was shocked! We rode out to check the damage and it was extensive. No idea how the power was restored so quickly. We had hooked up the generator expecting it to be a few days. I hope everyone has power back by tomorrow but there are over 14,000 people out so that may take a while. We saw several roads blocked with huge trees. A lot of people parked on the side of the main road and were walking trying to get home. It will take a while to get to those people. Be safe Blippers!
