Day out

When we first retired we said that we would do lots of 'tourist' things that we never had time for when we were working.  Today was another London visit.

I cancelled BP first (any excuse?!) and we got the train to London Bridge.  I had bought tickets for the Uber Clipper and we wandered down to the pick up point overlooking HMS Belfast and Tower Bridge.  There was a bit of argy bargy with a chap trying to get on without paying and harassing some girls waiting .......... not sure if he was on drugs/illegal immigrant or just dodgy but the police were called and he was quickly taken off the boat (refusing to give his name or any ID).

I digress.  The boat ride was lovely and we saw all the sights as we went along the Thames to Battersea.  We had visited before around 18 months ago but this time decided to go up Lift 109 - great views all around London and such a perfect day for a visit.  There may be another museum but I would have liked more information about the history of the site and maybe some social history (recollections from previous staff etc?).  We wandered around in the sunshine looking for somewhere for lunch and although lots of eateries nothing that was inspiring so went back inside and found something which was okay ish.

Boat back to London Bridge and train home.

Good day
