Another rose

Another rose today and another flower the dog showed no interest in.

My mother-in-law isn't a natural gardener, but she does like her flowers and has been pretty good at filling her garden with quite a variety of them. My wife is a big suspicious of her mother's generous use of chemicals, and intolerance of things eating her plants, but that's a generational difference thing. I think in the past we were too keen to spray things and kill everything, but at the same time it's not nice when the slugs eat all your strawberries or the aphids colonise your roses...
