Blue and White

A favourite quilt made from Indonesian batiks from the Textile Techniques shop.
I was quilting the border during Princess Diana’s funeral service and inked the date on the border.
We were going to France that day and I couldn’t sleep and heard there had been a crash involving the vehicle she was in. That morning I woke to hear her name in solemn tones on the radio and said to Alan “she’s died”. We set off listening to radio 4 as much as we could and watched French TV but were spared much hysteria and frenzy but still I mourned alongside so many everywhere.
