P ortugal Day 8, day 7 cycling.

Santa Cruz to Praia das Maçãs, 38 very very hot and hilly miles with over 3200ft of climbing. Some were 18% and quite a few were 14%. H re routed a lot to avoid the tracks, which was a relief. We stopped and had juice and the most delicious cakes and watched the local ladies with their scratch cards. Also had the delight of meeting a mule, albeit in a child’s pettying park.
More stunning beaches, more crowed than any others we’ve seen. Apparently this is Europes no1 surf area. Watching a competition was quite exciting.
