Down Porty way again and the promenade was heaving with the peely wally and scantily clad. I took refuge on Bath Street where the art-deco charms of the old George Cinema are on the wane. Not fast enough for the guys who were given permission to turn it into flats. They have to retain the listed facade though and replace the glass tower. So, much to the locals disgust, they are instead waiting for it to become totally derelict so they can demolish it. It’s been rumbling on for nearly ten years so far.
