Icelandic Horse

We drove the western coast today and spent some time in a charming fishing village called Stykkisholmsbaer. The ride took us through rolling hills and green farmland, with water pretty much everywhere. There were a lot of lava fields, right down to the water’s edge in many cases. We’ve been captivated by the horses here in Iceland. They’re so beautiful and remind us of Shetland ponies, only larger version. This one was happy to pose for me!
We saw horsemeat on the menu tonight….I could never order that!
