Sands!

Very nice to catch up with our old friend (and lapsed blipper) Sands - we went to the Vaults at lunchtime as she was on her way north to do some diving assessment/instruction tomorrow. The blether was excellent, as was the food. That's some sort of cullen skink rissole (?) that S was enjoying along with the usual hand cut chips. I really took this photo for the benefit of Samiam in Arizona, who is very fond of Sands but also of the Vaults' chips!

The extra is for copper beech fans - the amazingly resilient specimen in the 'new' Kirkgate which somehow survived all the noise and dust when they redeveloped it from the 'old' Kirkgate. I suppose the unlovely concrete buildings provide some protection from gales at least, although I think it must struggle for water at times (like now).
