Rampant Rhododendrons

I nearly forgot to take a photograph today. Van cleaning and baking oatcakes didn't provide much subject-matter. Well, maybe the oatcake experiment would have, but my hands got rather covered in mixture.  Half were baked in the oven, and half on a girdle (griddle to non-Scots). The latter look a lot more rustic - rather unevenly browned, but they taste fine.

So it was nearly nine pm when I took the picture, and the evening light has toned down the colours. In full sun they are just a little bit .... garish?
