Again and Again

Vines

parkrun day and I was drawn into a supporting role which wasn't that helpful to me but I got through it and somehow  managed to get my fastest time of the year so it wasn't  all bad.  Perhaps I should have hung around in a different location at the start and end.

Work to the amphitheatre is almost complete and we were back on our regular route.  HQ have insisted that a turnaround marshal is now mandatory on account of having done a new risk assessment.  Cindy wasnt keen on being positioned there longer term which I can understand as its a bit of an isolated location. Another volunteer complained about the visibility of the posts being raised to limit traffic movement.   We cover them with very large cones and it was challenging to do more than thank her for her feedback
A tourist offered to help pack up and came with us to the zoo afterwards.  Rather meanly we christened her Klingon Claire.  I am not sure why I felt differently towards her than I did towards Megan who essentially did the same thing a few weeks back when we were tourists.  Perhaps the location, perhaps the requests for instruction or maybe just how I felt in myself.

Afterwards Marion and I went to New Hall Vineyard for an open day. We shared a pistachio croissant and drank coffee in the sun before our guided tour of the facilities and some wine tasting.

We had hatched a plan to swim in Tollesbury afterwards and purchased a grazing box to take with us.  We were just about to set off when Marion took a call from home and on hearing that her husband had finished work for the day, we postponed our swim and she headed home.

I did manage a swim at high tide and it was a good one.
