Brighton Beach memoirs

We’ve come to raffish Brighton for the weekend.  Glorious weather.  We raced brother Jono and sister in law Sue who was also on the way to Brighton in their boat.  We got there quicker.

We are here for our anniversary so started the day with lunch in a Mexican restaurant to celebrate the fact we got married in Oaxaca.  Delicious tacos.  We checked into our hotel 124 which is on the beach overlooking the husk of the West pier….

We then wandered round the Lanes and through the Pavilion gardens having tea and ice-cream in a great new cinema cafe, before meeting old friends Rob and Lou in Soho Beach House for a drink, view in blip.  Both V and I have worked with composer Rob many times.

We walked back to the hotel through Brighton at its crazy partying best.  There were groups of stags and hens of course, but kids and parents, dancing at a beach side bars, people playing beachside paddle tennis thing, skateboard slalom and fire juggling.   We had a late dinner and afterwards sat in our room watching the fire jugglers on the beach below.  I only have a blurry pic of that or else I’d share!
