Urban Sketchers

Maastricht.
We did not cycle very far this afternoon. Only as far as Maastricht, where we joined a group of urban sketchers to sketch together at the Helpoort. We were both nervous because we are very insecure about our drawing skills, but also curious, because we are not sure whether we feel comfortable in a group.
Fortunately, it was not that bad. They were all enthusiastic people and during the coffee and beer afterwards, the conversation was mainly about the materials used. During the sketching everyone was busy with their own project. In that respect it is not much different than when I am sitting somewhere drawing by myself.
Bert also enjoyed it and he managed to capture the tower of the old city wall well. He kept wavering the little hour we took at the Faliezusterpark. Two drawings were too much to ask. I made a one-line sketch and came up with as usual a lack of space, so the bottom of the building did not fit in the available space.
