PCR test in the rain

...and I'm not joking. A 90 minute wait under the rain and two queues later, we were tested on a doorstep at the back of the laboratory.

The only time we went into the building was to register out front, in between the two queues.
Of course, with the advent of Omicron, it appears there are lots of contact cases. It seems there are fewer positive cases, as the woman who did my test said to me, when I told her I had COVID, "Ah a positive!" and noted it on my piece of paper. Even so, it appears that there are a lot of infections in France at the moment and it appears that the strain is weaker than the previous ones.

That said, I've really suffered the last couple of days - completely lost track of the time. I'm better today, but still not 100%. Paracetamol is my friend. The only snag with that is that I'm not eating much at all. So have an empty stomach. Yesterday I managed two pieces of toast and a very small piece of baguette with a little cheese. This morning more toast.

During our trip out I noticed a couple of things. A woman in a big Merc SUV parking over two parking spaces for the disabled. Blond and in her 30's she didn't look disabled when she wandered off from her car... leaving the lights and wipers on. I get really annoyed with people who don't follow rules, or do not have a common sense of decency. Hope her battery goes flat!
On the way home, the road from the town where the laboratory is to our village is a dual carriageway (normally). Strangely temporary lane markings and bollards have made it single carriageway. With a 50km/h limit imposed. Don't know what that is about?

It is a stretch of road that a lot of people use to get from the villages to/from the towns in the Paris suburbs further north. Already traffic jams were bad, so don't quite know the motivation behind this idea/experiment.
