Repotting

I repotted my Christmas cactus today, and also this geranium but I think the latter really needed to be in a bigger pot than the largest one I had. I'm no expert at this but I gave the plants a good watering beforehand. The cactus I'll now leave alone. The geranium I'll continue to water as needed. Does that sound right?
