Purple patch

The big rosebed has filled up in the last couple of weeks, and it seems that purple is the predominant colour. I still call this the rosebed because when we came here in 1967 it was one of those old fashioned rosebeds with wide spaces of bare earth. Gradually it has got filled in with a huge variety of plants and there is very little bare earth to be seen. There are one or two of the original roses still there. Sadly my “gardener” can’t seem to keep it clear of weeds and I am unable to get in there and do it myself, but it is quite good if you don’t look to closely.
