Belated Birthday Outing
This morning, after explaining to my little cat that I was going away for the day, I took the train to Vevey again where my daughter met me. We walked along the beautiful lake before taking the country bus up to where she lives in a village called Jongny. We had a delicious Poke Bowl salad on her terrace and I had taken a bottle of rosé wine.
After lunch we did a very long walk in the vineyards with a view over the lake (see the extra). There were many hills and it was hot and it seemed like a lot of work to me with all that climbing. The views however were sublime! My grandson came at 4.30 pm and we had birthday cake: chocolate with raspberries. Homemade and delicious.
It was nice to talk with my grandson about his plans for the immediate future: first of all four months in the Swiss army. This is compulsory for all young men in Switzerland. Then he has plans for travelling and working in an English speaking country. He's very keen on Australia which he visited last year and fell in love with this country.
I'm back home now, met at the front door by a little cat with a meow or two letting me know that it was way past her supper time! She always has dry biscuits available when I'm out, but it's not the same as her sachet of wet food.
It's nice to be home again after a sunny outing. The blackbird is singing on the nearby tree and all is well.
