Bee on cotoneaster
It was 01:56am when we arrived home from our Azores trip this morning, completely exhausted.
After a quick tripmto the supermarket for some supplies this morning, I happily spent the rest of the day out in the garden. The weather has been hot and sunny while we have been away and the plants have grown so much. The spring bulbs have gone over, some plants have wilted due to drought but there is also a lot of growth and colour. It was lovely to watch my beloved garden birds again and listen to the many bees on the cotoneaster along the fence. I don’t know what it is that attracts them to this plant as I cannot smell any scent but there were large numbers of them of different species.
It dawned on me how lucky we are to have such a variety of plants, birds and insects here, the Azores has amazing sea mammals but relatively few birds and plants.
