New tyre on - yay!
Another busy shift but stayed back half an hour to pop the tyre on because I was sick of passing by and looking at it through the day ;-D
The method is apparently used by trail bike riders 'in the field' so to speak and was a lucky find on YouTube. You begin by slightly inflating the inner tube, dust it with talc and put it inside the tyre before carefully squeezing the beads of the tyre together with thick cable ties (top)
Smear tyre soap around the bead, then start to fit it to the wheel by inserting the valve stem through its hole and screwing it's retaining nut on loosely. Keeping the tyre in the shallow part of the wheelrim, work around pushing it on by hand. It went on easily and didn't even need the use of a tyre lever...girl power or what?! Then carefully cut & remove the cable ties and inflate the tyre to seat its beads on the wheelrim. (Voila!)
Back home I checked & found it out of balance slightly so will sort that before fitting it back on Biscuit on Tuesday. @Oilyrag may be impressed by the old school weight I intend to use for that!
