Good Things Come...

..to those who wait!

It was a busy day today rushing around doing errands while Sherri cleaned house., and it was the end of the day again when I realized I had been so caught up in getting things done, that I had not, once again, taken a photo.

I decided not to get too concerned about being blipless as I was sure  that if I went out and sat on the deck with my camera, for a while, that something would come along, and sure enough, it did!  And it was something I had never expected... a hummingbird flitting about feasting on my bleeding hearts! 

Say what? I never get hummingbirds here... at the cottage? Yes. We get them every year, but not here in my back yard. What a treat...Of course the photos are not great, as those little wings never stopped moving; they busy holding him in place as he sipped! It was not as easy to snap a photo as it is when they are sitting on a feeder at the cottage!

The little guy did stop briefly though; he took a wee break in one of the shrubs (extra)  where I could get a better look at him...

I immediately went in and ordered a hummingbird feeder and it will, of course, be delivered to my doorstep tomorrow.  (Yes..I confess..I gave in and ordered from Amazon...mea culpa.) 

The hummingbird had to be my main, pushing my charming little pole dancer into the extras...

PS: The Toronto Maple Leafs won tonight's game and have forced a 7th game. Oh the suspense....be still my heart!
