I am not sure what I expected of Lindisfarne. I certainly didn’t expect it, at 10am on a Monday, to be as busy as a sunny Saturday afternoon in a city centre.
The ruins are impressive, and the church is pretty, but it’s hard to let it soak in when it’s rammed solid with people.
It must be bloody unbearable in school holidays.
Ah well.
