Quicker by post

I remember my late neighbour Archie McNaughton showing me an invitation to an early 20th century funeral , addressed I think to his farm of Ardachuple , which had been posted in Kames  in the morning . delivered to Glendaruel at lunchtime, and an answer despatched which was received  in Tighnabruaich first thing the next day. 

I suspect even if you were to hand deliver it via the Cowal Way, you couldn't do that today but the story occurred to me when I was posting something in Tighnabruaich and noticed the Cowal Way plaques next to the post box.
