Moomin Magic

My friend Cherie and I have had a brilliant day, volunteering at the Horse and Bamboo theatre in Bacup. The amazing puppet maker Alison (bottom left of photo) showed us around the studio, and then let us loose! As well as us there was Miriam and Lindsey, and we were joined by Gretchen from Montana near the end of the day, who is just starting a placement there for the next few weeks.

We were helping to make puppets for the Moominland winter show, which will be shown in Bath in December. It was a really fun day, and I'd love to go to another volunteering day there. We helped papier mache several Moomin heads, and added clay to Moominmamma's body to make her tummy fatter and give her a more curvy bottom!
