If you can't beat them...

Insect on Cotoneaster.

The good weather is still holding!  Kat is very much an outdoor girl, being an early riser by the time I get up she is out there sitting with a "cuppa" and just enjoying being outside.  As a result when we are visiting we too spend a lot of time outdoors.

While wandering the garden looking for a blip Clickychick spotted "bees" on the Cotoneaster.  More to the point they were landing and walking along the stems making photography easier.  I couldn't resist.

It is only now I get the shots on the computer that I realise they aren't bees at all.  Bees have two pairs of wings this, probably some sort of fly, has only one.  It could be a type of Bee Fly but I didn't notice the proboscis.
