A day in the life

Summer

This is the ultimate summer foto around here, the cows has left their winter quarters and are summer grazing in different fields in the neighbourhood. The gates are open, everything is possible.

As you can see we've had a gorgeous summers day, I've been spending my landlords money buying Swedish Falu red paint for the house I live in. I've taken on the task of painting it, for the cost of a months rent, about 650€. The paint is, according to a translation service, a "distemper" paint and has been used all over Sweden since the 17hundreds. It has natural ingredients, a bi-product from the copper mines in Falun when they found out that the waste could be ground to a powder and mixed with linseed oil and flour, to produce a natural paint, easy to use and demands no scraping to get rid of when it's time for a new coat, just brush the old pigment off with a coarse broom and start painting.

I also bought some new plants to put in pots and place them where there is need for some colour in the garden. Plants has gone really expensive, I got very little for 60€, less than last year. It was also time to cut the grass again after the moist period we've had during the last week. The evening was amazing. Totally still, lots of birds and I enjoyed the concert and a mighty sunset from the veranda.
