Fire!

We went to the Hafod Estate today to walk the extensive forested parkland. Walking along the ridge from the car park, we noticed smoke on the other side of the valley with a number of emergency vehicles in attendance. We then watched fascinated as a helicopter flew over the ridge with a water bucket suspended beneath. It proceeded to fly over the fire and release its water load. It then disappeared  over the far ridge only to reappear a few minutes later having replenished its water load in Teifi pools. This continued for several hours as we carried on with our walk. When we returned to the car park the fire fight was continuing but the smoke and extent of burning had greatly reduced and looked as though they were winning the fight.
