The Woman In Black

I’d like to think the woes of the world
are not a weight on those bare shoulders
but it would appear that they are.

It looks as if she’s having to concentrate
on the very act of walking.
And that is a weary way of walking

along the street. She’s not exactly dragging
her feet but there’s no spring
in her step. I can’t believe she’s enjoying

her trip through town. Look how she looks down.
That MacBook ad won’t catch her eye.
And, as I capture the moment, neither will I.
