Cosy Indoor Day

Brrrr... After a hot day yesterday when sitting in the sun actually became too warm, a cold front blew in! I spent a big part of the day wrapped in an afghan on the sofa reading.The good news? I made real progress in The Bee Sting..and can finally see the end in sight...only a couple hundred more pages to go!  

Dans le jardin? The Charming and the not-so Charming...Provide feed and water and they will come - the beautiful birds, the cute bunnies, the wily coyote, the lovable chipmunks and squirrels and yep - the rats! 
 
Geez..I thought they were gone. I had not seen one in ages, but spied this one today from the kitchen window! My neighbour who provides water for our local wildlife in the form of a pond with an enticing little bubbling waterfall, has had a real problem with them and up until now, seemingly has had success getting rid of them. I guess he will have to get out those traps again. I really don't want to have to take my feeders down again. 

I truly enjoy my hour or so late in the day just sitting, watching and photographing the fun and games out there, but I don't like surprises like this unwelcome rat; as cute as he may be, he is persona non grata. 

So today...The Good and the Bad, and even what some would call The Ugly. Good to curl up with a good book and to have goldfinches outside the window..but yuk! A rat?
