Sex In The Afterlife

In the new heaven and new earth, sex will no longer be for the purpose of procreation. Nor will it involve sexual intercourse, for “at the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.”
- Matthew 22:30

If Matthew 22:30 is true
it may be a waste of time reading
'The Beginner's Guide To Sex In The Afterlife.'

The copy in the hands of that avid reader
(probably an abridged version)
is not a weighty tome;

it's even slimmer than a slim volume
of light verse. Perfect for a quick read
in the privacy of your own home

by torchlight under your duvet.

I'm itching to get my hands on it
but it's current reader is so engrossed
that they've ignored my request for a shufti

and I know there's no point getting shirty.
I'll just have to wait until they've finished
and pass the time pondering the phrase

'they will be like the angels in heaven.'

For 'they' read 'you/us/we.' We will be
like angels. Comparable to angels. Akin
to angels. Perhaps we'll be an approximation

of what it is to be an angel. An almost angel.
A second class angel. No equality then,
not even in Paradise?

So, to sum up:

if Matt is correct
the afterlife = no marriage, no sex,
and we're no angels and never will be.

But we all come and go
so, if it's true we'll find out,
and if it's not we'll never know

and, in that case,
ignorance will be bliss?
(hopefully).
