Clubtail

Now in later May the club-tail dragonflies are starting to. emerge. I've wandered on this same path for a few days now on the banks of the River Severn and this is my first of the season. Always a joy to get what you set out to get.

She had surreptitiously flown in above me whilst I was rolling round in the dried mud on the fisherman's platform trying to coax a demoiselle into the camera lens. It was during my antics I suddenly heard a plop in the water underneath me and for an awful second thought I'd lost my phone out of my back jeans pocket in the water but thankfully I'd left it in the car. 

Really lovely to sit peacefully on the bank in the sun with the camera. I need to get down to some editing!
