“Belonging” at The Reser

The Art Gallery at the Reser Theater in Beaverton had a wonderful exhibition of works made from paper. “Infinite Possibilities brings together eleven regional and international artists who transform paper in unexpected ways; lifting it beyond the two-dimensional plane to explore its potential as a conduit for history, memory, and identity.”

In this installation, Sabina Haque “navigates cycles of inclusion and exclusion experienced by members new to a community.” Here she depicts both the Pakistan/India border disruption her father experienced in 1947, and the Sonoran Desert at the US/Mexico border, places disrupted by lines of control, and made life-sized drawings of people experiencing the disruption in their lives.

The Beaverton Symphony performs some of its concerts here, like the one this evening.
