Two Birds on a Roof

These pheasants decorate the top of a thatched cottage in the small village of Germansweek between Launceston and Okehampton. My walk today started from the quiet north-eastern end of Roadford Lake and followed a circular route passing through the village, quiet woodland and across open sheep pastures. The whole area here feels deserted, remote and distant from the modern world.
