Shades of Portobello
For today we had planned another cycle ride in the great sunny Scottish outdoors. However, when I awoke this morning coughing and sneezing, it soon became obvious that I was in no fit state to get into the car and travel north, let alone pedal 30+ miles in the hills. Disappointed, Mr hazelh and I cancelled our day out and pottered about at home instead.
The good news is that I haven't been completely incapacitated by this cold. Had I still been working, I probably wouldn't even have declared myself sick. I would have just worked at home instead of on campus. The cold has arrived so quickly that I have a feeling it will disappear fast too. I'm confident that I will be better very soon.
On a quieter than expected day, I finally managed to find two and a half hours to finish proof-reading our photobook for 2024 - hurrah! Mr hazelh and I also made a short expedition by bus to Portobello to visit the seaside in the sunshine. I am proud that I captured a view of the sand, sea and sky without a single person in the shot.
Exercise today: walking (11,907 steps).
