Crypt

This is the crypt at the Triskel (formerly Christ Church) in Cork City. In 1863 a human heart, in a lead cyst was found. It was dated 1549.  The heart was deemed the most important part of the body. When royalty or nobility died the body was broken into different parts and the heart was brought to a place of significance. There is no knowledge as to whose heart it was.
We were on a history tour of Cork yesterday.
