Living my dream

Late afternoon sun slanting across the main lawn.

The grass didn't get a cut today. There was a -2C frost first thing which  left it very wet, and there was then no breeze to dry anything much, despite wall to wall sunshine all day.

So I made an executive decision: to have a mini-'holiday' from my garden for a few days. There is nothing urgent to do and nothing is looking too awful pre-clear-up. It can all wait.

I made butter, and I baked the sourdough loaf I mixed and proved yesterday. Then I took lunch into the new cabin, sat on the sofa with my book and relaxed for a couple of hours.

Bean had a walk of course. And following that I discovered I was quite sleepy. A nananap resulted.

A good day.

Thanks for all the empathy about dealing with bureaucracy yesterday. Isn't it awful that almost all of us have butted heads with it? There is surely a message there for local government??

At last various governments have decided that Israel has gone too far in Gaza. I am pleased that they are speaking out and starting to do something. Let's hope they stop selling arms to Israel next. But it is too little too late for many many Palestinians.
