3 days and a side of chaos

Three days to go, and of course, work has tipped into chaos. My line manager has returned from annual leave—bringing suspected COVID with her. She’s the key player in our decorating plans, so the timing couldn't be worse. She also missed the interviews, though luckily we were all aligned—candidate number three got all our votes. It's hers if she says yes. Fingers crossed.

After the day we’d had, we headed out for burgers (Beyond Burgers really are the best). Just as we ordered, I got a video call from G—welcoming us to her cooking show. I couldn’t watch but asked for a photo of the final dish. Her mum ended up sending it over, as G’s phone shuts down automatically after 9pm. The result? Pizza pinwheels. Not bad at all.
