Tuesday

Early rise this AM to run Eldest and her friends Brandon & Kelly to the airport where they met Tuesday, the four of them having a day in Dublin via. a hop over the Irish Sea aboard a Ryanair. As I begin typing this they are 9,000 feet over Liverpool and descending into Manchester.

After a long catch up snooze on the settee, I took Biscuit's rear wheel to a local Motorcycle workshop to have it balanced. I had tried to do this in a heath robinson fashion at home, intending to use Plumbers Solder as weight which may or may not have impressed Blip Classic bike enthusiast @Oilyrag as I read such a method was used by 'ton up' cafe racers back in the day, however a work colleague talked me into having the wheel balanced in a proper jig. As it happens they are not an expensive purchase but as it would only be used once every Preston Guild & taking up room/gathering dust in between, letting someone else do it sounded the better option and they charged hardly anything either. Back at Biscuit, her wheel was refitted and ridden to the end of the road & back to check all was well.

In the early evening there was a trip to a neurodivergent support group to take youngest to. This is exactly the sort of thing she has railed against since therapists began suggesting it years ago, however during a recent low point where her anxiety had gotten a hold, she expressed a willingness to try anything to turn things around and neither of us had any idea of what to expect to be perfectly honest. As it happens, the experience was a revelation for her and she is looking forward to attending the next one in a few weeks. As a worried parent, this is massive! Even had she gone in for 10 minutes and then left I would have seen it as a positive because even trying would have been progress, but her spending two hours finding out about the group and enjoying it? This worried parent came out of there feeling hopeful and am so proud of her :-)

Blip: the group met at a football club in a localish town. These are some of the scarecrowes to keep the grass seed safe(!) but currently taking a well earned rest. Another was stood diligently on the corner of the pitch.

After a late tea the household gradually each split off to do its own thing, mine being to pour a glass of water (too warm for a cuppa) and enjoy a relaxing video natter with Bestie, talking holiday cos' it'll soon be time. At some point Eldest appeared home, this time in a proper Uber, saying "Hai!" & "Bye!" as she had work in the morning. Our chat continued beyond the 'bongs until "Nunnite"s were exchanged and I think I fell asleep on the settee (again)
