Wherryman

We did another circular walk today to our other ‘local’: Coldham Hall. Mr DA was overjoyed to find that, not only was their menu largely gluten-free, but also that they had gluten- free beer. We ate beside the river watching the swans, grebes, cormorants and boats go by. This sculpture of a wherryman is in the beer garden.

In other news, yesterday while I was having a cup of tea in the garden I saw a marsh harrier soar past, low over the marsh (appropriately enough). This morning Mr DA saw it do the same route again at the same time. Then this afternoon we both saw a pair of them flying past and overhead. So exciting to see! (We did get some pictures but will have to wait until we get home to see if any of them are any good.)
