Loudoun Hill Fire
Almost reliving its volcanic past Loudoun Hill (316m), a volcanic plug, is a prominent feature of the Lanarkshire/Ayrshire landscape.
Tonight the summit area of the hill is ablaze as fire among the gorse and dry grasses is being fuelled by a brisk SW wind.
Hopefully it will burn out before damaging the stand of large trees on its eastern flank.
